Albertine Rift Technical Reports Series

The Albertine Rift Technical Reports Series (ISSN: 1543-4109) was developed by WCS to enable more detailed studies to be published in a timely manner. Many scientific papers and reports cannot incorporate the detail that may be useful for someone who wants it. For instance it would be useful when returning to repeat a survey at a site to have the details of the methods used and also of encounter rates of animals seen. It is not possible to put these in scientific papers and consequently many details of surveys are lost. However, these are important historical records and deserve to be documented well so that comparisons can be made in future. Similarly scientific papers do not allow a detailed examination of a particular subject and these are better dealt with in a report. An example is the first issue of the Albertine Rift Technical Reports Series which provides an overview of Human-Wildlife conflict and how to tackle it.
